I reported a problem with a blockage earlier today and have just had a visit from Dave Parker, one of your contractors, to unblock the sewage pipe for us and our neighbour. Dave visited us to investigate an ongoing sewer blockage problem we had been having. Dave was polite and professional which is great in itself however what really impressed us was the fact that he returned twice to see the problem through - his tenacity and pride in doing a thorough job was inspiring. Following a call to YW helpline 07/02, late evening we were visited by this technician at 4.15pm 08/02. A run of three detatched houses with drains blocked and sewage backing up in smelly profusion was swiftly and efficiently dealt with. All drains unblocked, power cleaned and examined with camera. Further remedial work cleaning off roots was carried out. Clear explanations were given throughout of all procedures. All areas were hosed clean The tasks were completed without delay, with a good humour and in a manner that was totally reassuring....so refreshing in this age. What an excellent job solving a particularly distressing situation Well done lads

I have been having a really nasty time with my sewer getting blocked and since initially contacting Yorkshire Water through the website I have felt very confident in getting this sorted due to the level of contact, information provided and technical attention sorted out by Mini. When she says she will ring on a certain day, she rings on that day. When she says shell have an engineer out by a certain day - she does. Having not experienced good customer service like this for such a very long time I wanted to express my gratitude. Shes a credit to you.

Today 8/2/2013 there was a major burst on Thompson lane Baildon leaving us with no water. I was more worried than a lot about this as recently having to have an ileostomy it has left me very vulnerable to infection so hygiene is a must. Through the course of the day I spoke to Laura around 4 or 5 times she was fantastic in keeping me updated on how progress was going and how to get some water. Thank you Laura for your care and compassion it was much appreciated Dawn Baker

I used a standard contact email address. Very soon i received a very friendly phone call taking up my queries. Both were addressed immediately. Jeanie followed up to make sure everything was fine by me . I have just had a second follow up call at the time the second job should have been completed. It was. Impressive first line contact is backed up by support I cannot see. A promised call was made by someone else in minutes. a cheque arrived in half the promised time. Contractors made a call to revise time of appointment to save them money. When i was unable to accept, they selected a time to suit me. The contractor who arrived was courteous, helpful and efficient. Quality customer service runs right through this experience. I bothered to call on this occasion because i had been so well treated in the past. Consistency across time and across the organisation and its subcontractors indicates a very high level of commitment to the customer. 30786. Dean Wade and Jason Parker
I would like to nominate Dean Wade and Jason Parker who carried out a repair to my water main on the 6th February 2013. After a visit from a Yorkshire Water engineer I was told a repair would be carried out within Twenty four hours. Within two hours I received a phone call telling me that a team would be at my address in the next twenty minutes. They arrived as promised and assessed the situation and then explained what needed to be done. They then carried out the necessary repairs and returned my driveway to its original state. I take the time to write this because Rarely do you come accross tradesman who have a genuine desire to supply a service of such high standards, which I personally feel deserves to be recognised. I also think that the whole process from the initial phone call to the engineer visit and the resulting repair was seamless and again deserves recognition.

30711. Mr. Dave Quinney
Mr. Quinney came to my sons house to fit a new shower due to an interruption in water to his house 3 weeks ago when Yorkshire Water had to repair a burst pipe that caused the silty water to block his shower once the service was rectified. Mr Quinney replaced the shower, quietly and cleanly in a methodical manner. Before he left he made sure I checked and understood everything to do with the working of the appliance to pass on to my son when he returned from work.He also left the site in an excellent clean condition. It is very nice to be able to pay a compliment for a job well done, so many thanks to Mr Dave Quinney.

As I was phoning YW to find out if the appointment would go ahead given the snow, this gentleman was already outside my house. He located a stop tap which various people had tried and failed to do, checked it, adjusted it and marked the spot for my plumber so that I didnt have to leave the house, all in near blizzard conditions. He then checked the flow and gave me sensible advice concerning lead pipework. Very impressive. Many thanks

Jonathan came to install a Water Meter today. He was very informative, friendly, and went out of his way to ensure we got the install we were expecting by providing us with a new stop top, given the external one is broken - Grovelling around under our house and getting soaked through in the process is deserved of a WOW award in itself. Jason attended around 8pm on the 2nd February to investigate a blocked drain at 48 Rotherham Rd, Wath Upon Dearne. He was polite and thorough in ascertaining the nature of the problem and worked quickly and efficiently to unblock and survey the drain. He was happy to explain the procedures as the work progressed. I would suggest that he proved to be an ideal representative of the company.

Damon visited my home on Friday 1st February to carry out a survey for the fitting of a water meter. When he arrived I advised him that I had been told by another representative of Yorkshire Water last year that a meter couldnt be fitted under my kitchen sink (in a cupboard) I was also told by the same person last year that one couldnt be fitted outside where the stop tap is. Damon looked under my sink and said immediately that he COULD fit a meter there. He said it would be a little awkward but it could be done. I would like to nominate the above mentioned member of staff who I believe is an asset to Yorkshire Water. Mr Brannan was extremely polite and provided an excellent thorough service. He also explained what he was going to do and why the blockage had probably occurred. He was extremely professional and not at all phased by the lateness of the hour. Also a genuinely nice man and I would have felt comfortable with him on our property dealing with the drains even if my husband had not been at home. Very professional. Mr Lawn was more than efficient, courtious and informative while dealing with the overflow of the sewage drain in my back garden, keeping me up to date frequently as to the situation and problem in getting the blockage cleared. Re. the visit to-day (MONDAY 28TH Jan 13) by DAVE QUINNEY regarding us having no water to our property due to the problem with S26 water, we would like to comment on his very conscientious approach to the job and his attention to detail. The problem was not a straight forward one but he persevered until we finally had our water reinstated. After being without water since Sunday morning we were very relieved and thankful that he knew exactly what he was doing and carried out the job to our complete satisfaction. I was impressed by the way in which Attaullah handled my query. He telephoned me within a few minutes of receiving my email and arranged for an engineer to call at a time convenient to me. I asked for a reduction in my bill and he telephoned me very quickly again to discuss it. I was pleased to be offered a refund and the helpful way in which Attaullah dealt with my request.

Please can you pass on my big big thanks to the team who attended my property today (23 January 2013). I had sewage in my back garden, which I was extremely concerned about. I have to say that my heart goes out to the guys who attended the problem. I was out when they attended my home, but as requested, they rang me to advise they were on their way, which was great. When I returned home from work they had left a card and the problem was sorted. This has got to be one of the most challenging jobs ever and I really appreciate that the job was carried out and they even cleaned up the garden too. Thank you so much for doing this job, you provide a great service and one which many people just couldnt do. Thanks :-)
