19672. Gary Cooper
Gary was our contact for some recent water mains work carried out on Hunslet Hall Road, Leeds 11. I work in a centre for Physically Disabled Adults and it is vitally important that we are aware of any issues that may affect the Centre for health and safety reasons. Gary was exceptionally helpful throughout, calling in to keep us informed of progress and ensuring that we had bottled water etc. What was particularly refreshing though, was the fact that he explained in great detail any effects it may have on our water supply, and what we could do to mitigate them. He really helped us manage this potentially disruptive situation.

19676. Cheryl Wilkinson
I would like to nominate one of my colleagues Cheryl Wilkinson for a WOW Award. I started working at Yorkshire Water 6 Months ago. Although I did not work directly with Cheryl I did have to sometimes go to her with queries. Cheryl was always willing to help, offering to show me what work she does and how it fits into my role. Cheryl would also find time to send me information regarding her work in regard to new water connections and disconnections. This was extremely useful to me. Recently I have started to work more closely with Cheryl on work involving the fire service. Again Cheryl has been really helpful and supportive in explaining and showing me the different jobs that we do for the fire service. Cheryl is always enthusiastic and helpful. Not only with colleagues but with internal and external partners and stakeholders. She always goes the extra mile providing a first class professional service to everyone she deals with. Cheryl certainly meets the Values of Yorkshire Water by pulling together to work constructively every day to achieve her goal, planning ahead in dealing with challenges and opportunities in getting the job done, supporting others by being enthusiastic and encouraging in her work and her day to day dealings with colleagues, internal and external partners and stakeholders, thinking outside the pipes by looking at ways to create improved processes to help everyone, making a difference by having a positive impact on everyone that she deals with by going the extra mile in all aspects of her work.

Called Yorkshire Water at 9.15a.m with problem toilet flushing suspect blocked drain engineer arrived approxl 1p.m and cleared drain within 45 mins with complete efficiency and pleasant attitude. Date of problem 16.2.20012. Would also like to nominate Yorkshire Water for always being v ery helpful whenever I have called them.

19597. Alex Dickinson & Marco Mendes
Job ( WMS ) ref. 1388.1285, todays date 16/02/12 The two gentlemen named above, but I am not sure about Marcos second name called today, to attend to an emergency blockage within our outside drainage system. They two men worked extremely well together, speedily and efficiently and certainly knew what they were doing. The result being that what my wife and I considered a major problem, was resolved swiftly, in a thoroughly professional manner. Please pass on our thanks again to both of them, for their efforts.William and Linda Fynn.

19109. Steve Every and Randall Silverwood
Steve and his colleague arrived today ( 23rd Jan 2012) to try to unblock the main taking sewage ( plus backup ) from mine and adjacent properties (15 St Margarets Road Horsforth Leeds LS18 5BD) . They immediately located the problem and set to work sorting this out. Apart from quickly identifying the cause, explaining it to me and carefully but efficiently removing this and restoring full service the two things that struck me were:1) their cheerful disposition , humour and teamwork2) they cleaned up the previous backflow A real credit and advertisement for your organisation . Wow indeed

Mike came and unblocked our drain straight away and also got in touch with his team for somebody to come and fix our pipe ASAP as my baby is due any day and I need it sorting before it arrives!!

J887997 A great service by Dave on 11th February to clear a blocked drain at Shipman Road, Market Weighton which was effecting 4 households and was the responsibility of Yorkshre Water. Arrived much earlier than forecast by YW and also rang in advance to give approximate time of arrival. Very polite, helpful, explained what he was going to do at all times and above all solved the problem in a short space of time. Many thanks Dave.

My problem was being unable to locate my stop tap. Telephoned your company and was treated politely whilst an appointment time was arranged. (15.2.12)Within minutes of the earliest time Mr Warcup arrived. He was polite and friendly. He explained all the options open to me and made arrangements the further work to be carried out. I know this does not sound exceptional but with previous experience with utility companies (not YW) I was expecting more of the same. You have certainly got the PR side right by employing people like Mr Warcup. Thank you.
