22993. Matt Purssell, Glen Scott, Neil Handley, Adam Jobling, Martin Southam, Matt Nelson
Customer from Trelawn Place, Leeds wrote:- We have during the past 7-10 days undergone the replacement of the water pipes in this street. I understand that the team involved were under the care of Glen Scot & Adam Jobling. What a superb team they were, always cheerful and always ready to answer any queries one might have. Also they kept householders informed about any development - particularly when the water had to be turned off. They were such an incredible group and were hard grafters from the moment they arrived on the scene until their departure. I have nothing but total admiration for the way this whole project was handled. No easy undertaking given the complexity of what they were doing. It is to their great credit that they endeavoured to keep the disturbance to a minimum for all of us. Indeed in all ways they were a credit to your organisation. I think many of us were somewhat dreading the onset of the replacement but, the way it was handled by this team demonstrated that we had nothing to fear

22994. Richard Galthen, Terry Pratt, Paul Waller, John Edwards
Customer from Avon Close, Wombwell wrote:- Mr Wall wrote - Prior to the work starting I took the oppportunity that you offered to contact them with the special needs that we have. My brother is handicapped and uses a wheelchair, therefore we needed access for our campervan, our only transport. The team who undertook the work went out of their way to accommodate not just our needs, but speaking to some of my neighbours, their needs as well. Yes, there were minor disruptions, but you cannot work on a narrow cul-de-sac without them and that is recognized. The way that they tidied as they went along, removing the excavated rubble to keep their footprint to a minimum was impressive. All the more so when you remember we were supposedly in the middle of a drought, it rained heavily most days. The support of the workmen is much appreciated and they are to be commented for their customer service aswell as their obvious construction abilities. If our experience is indicative, then you have a first class contractor in Balfour Beatty.

23037. Andrew K Lee
I would like to nominate the man from DrainsAid for a WOW award, Andrew Lee. He was friendly, considerate, spent time to listen to the various aspects contributing to my cellar floods and explained what he was doing, and what he thought were the reasons for the blockage in the drain. Andrew said he would arrange with yourselves to issue letters to residents warning them of what not to put down the sewers. I thought this was fantastic of him and he really went the extra mile for me. Despite the reason for my contacting you being unpleasant, the solution and the dealings Ive had with you and your contractor has been much more pleasant.

22906. Steve Moulding
Mr Moulding examined the leak which we had reported and was in a very inaccessible position. Although it was not the meter causing the leak he gave his opinion that the packing nut seemed loose, and that the problem might be able to be solved in a short time. Although it was in a very awkward position, he went the second mile and carefully adjusted the nut to solve the problem.Steve was polite and cheerful, and is a credit to Yorkshire Water.
