J635136-1 - Could I just compliment your Telephone contact Imrana ext 493 who handled my call this afternoon. She was attentive and positive and a credit to you. To summarise, my neighbour Station Road experienced flooding from the overnight rain and back up sewage from our connecting pipework at the front of our houses. He called a contractor who discovered the problem was tree roots virtually blocking the exit onto Collier close and removed these ( they are piled next to the cover ).Also they and I inspected the connection to Station road and tree roots were evident there too , but in fewer numbers. So our pipework is now clear, but I rang on behalf of my neighbour who are now away until the end of next week and had to call in the contractors, although the problem was in fact at the connection at Collier close.I will be about if your staff appear on Saturday and I can show them the work done!

On Thursday 8.9.11 I called Yorkshire Water Customer Services to report flooding from an outside drain into my kitchen during the heavy rain of the previous afternoon/evening. The flooding had subsided when the rain eased off. Both ladies I spoke to on the phone were immediately sympathetic and helpful, and the one who booked the drain engineers visit for later that same day took care to establish what times I would be out collecting my children from school. Martin Eaton of Drains Aid called me en route to let me know what time to expect him, which was useful. He was friendly, efficient, informative and thorough. He removed the blockage in the drain and conducted a cctv survey to ensure there were no problems further along in the system. He explained everything he was doing, once for my benefit and once for my husband who arrived home from work while this was in progress. Having solved the problem, Mr Eaton said he would recommend a further investigation by Yorkshire Water to judge whether the gully pot ought to be replaced or any further action taken. The next day I received a very nice follow-up call from customer services, checking that the issue had been resolved. Within 3 working days, on 13.9.11, Mr Les Hiley (WMS ref 13321348) visited to inspect the gully and photograph the affected area of the kitchen, established that there were no ongoing problems, and informed me that we might be eligible for an ISS reimbursement, which was totally unexpected and would be most welcome. Without exception, Yorkshire Water staff have been pleasant, polite, helpful, prompt and professional in dealing with this case; I highly commend your service and hope it is recognised and rewarded.
