A massive thank you to all at Age UK, in particular Paul Elkin who I found to be genuinely helpful and sympathetic towards those he visits, in this instance my mum (Mrs G Orgill of Central Ave, Bucknall). He displays a reassuring presence and gives a sense of comfort to those concerned. He is a very caring gentleman who works extremely hard attending to the individuals every need. I really do appreciate all that Paul does for Age UK, to make the lives of the older generation, who can sometimes feel isolated and vulnerable, that little bit special. This is why I would like to nominate Paul Elkin for the "Wow" award. Kindest regards.

I called late at night witha domestic abuse case that required emergency housing. I informed Ian that the ex partner of my client was being held in custody but for a limited period of time so we had to move fast with finding accommodation. There were complications with the case in the fact that the client had been put up by Cheshire East council but were then failing to take responsibility for her as the partner had found her and forced her to leave the safe accommodation.Although the client had recently moved from Stoke to Cheshire East Ian supported myself and the client in being able to find her alternative safe accommodation for her.Ian was extremly helpful, professional and supportive through our late night call and found accommodation for my client so that she would not have to face returning to the home in Alsager to further high risk domestic abuse from her partner.I would like to thank Ian for his support and professionalism with this.

Linda has been absolutely helpful when I came in for enquiries and assistance with my housing benefit issues. She listened attentively, was very patient with me, signposted me to others despite her work and phone calls. I took most of her time but she remained calm and helpful.

One of the best carers I have had. Shes thoughtful, kind, understanding and helpful but professional in her manner. A credit to the company.

The lady who I dealt with was very polite and very helpful. She put my mind at rest. I was very grateful for the help I got.

We run a small hotel and needed to set up a booking on-line system. Wanda spent many patient hours helping us to create, understand and develop the system (we are technologically challenged)! Since then she has answered all queries immediately, at length, and she explained everything in great detail to ensure we understood. She has even followed up with e-mails to check how we are getting on and to offer her assistance. Wanda is very approachable, patient and knowledgeable and deserves recognition for her hard work. Due to Wanda our bookings have increased and more trade is expected from this, and will have spin-off benefits for other businesses in Stoke-on-Trent.

She is always available for advice etc. When Ive needed her she always returns our calls on the phone, if she is out. The care plan she devised has been carried out, to the letter, with the lovely care staff under her supervision. She even anticipates our needs (son and daughter-in-law) and does things to help us in difficult circumstances.

For her pleasant and thoughtful approach in making a concerted search in storage to find family Sly and Stone album, and finding some lyrics on the net for me.In todays climate it was so refreshing to see someone who really takes pleasure and pride in a job she obviously enjoys. Keep it up Jackie.

They were very caring and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them to do, and very dedicated.

I went to Serena for assistance when I was informed by Housing Benefits that, due to the incorrect Local Housing Allowance rate being applied in the calculation of my benefit since April 2010, I now had an overpayent. Obviously, I felt that I should not have to pay this. Serena was calm, methodical and gave a thorough explanation and helped me to request a "recon" and advised me of the appeals procedure. I left feeling confident that I had no need to worry.

For helping me to do activities that I thought I couldnt do. He was most attentive and caring and very good at his job.

This employee was fantastic and did her job with confidence, with a wonderful manner and wonderful attitude. This worker is a star. A big thank you.

Excellent service provided. Healthy eating promoted continuously. Very pleasant at all times. Service with a smile. Food is delicious. An excellent meeting place for all users of the centre. Quick service. I look forward to eating Joans food and think she does an amazing job.

He was the most helpful, efficient and courteous person I have ever had any dealings with, especially with the dealing of my housing benefit, which was very super fast in my eyes as far as I was concerned. Please phone me if you wish.

My husband and I went to reception to ask how we could get a bus pass for my husband. The receptionist was very helpful and happy and in about 5 mins we were sorted with no hassle. She was very obliging and very organised. It was a pleasure to deal with her.

This lady was very pleasant and friendly to myself and my husband when she saw us today. She was very understanding of our situation and of the fact that we were nervous and unsure of what to do. She made us feel at ease with her straight away, and also made it easy for us to fill in the form we needed to complete. She also spent a lot of time with us, giving us further help and advice for which we were very grateful. This lady has a lovely attitude and manner towards people and we cant thank her enough for her help.

Adam could clearly see I was stressed that the DWP had made a massive mistake in my Housing Benefit, and he calmly and professionally helped to sort it.

The team have been very helpful. Joy is a very caring person, helpful and kind. They cannot do enough for you. They are doing a very good job. Hope they can keep up the good work.

I would like to nominate the Crescent Childrens Centre for all the hard work they do encouraging children and parents in everyday activities. The staff are all very welcoming and always there to help at any moment.

Two fantastic fun days. Lots of people, lots to do. Kids enjoyed it.

Because she has worked really hard to do the fun days during the school holiday. She made them fun. She is very approachable.

This lady is a strong person in the centre. She has organised a fantastic fundraiser and family disco. Everything she does is done with 150% effort.

There are no words to describe the centre. The staff are fantastic, always there to help and give advice. Would recommend this centre to any family moving into the area.

She is highly professional and committed to her role. She is very friendly towards everyone who enters the Childrens Centre.

She is very hard working. The time she spends with families at the centre is excellent. She is easily approachable, very outgoing, very friendly and fun.

Caz is a very hard working and welcoming person, and always goes that extra mile for her place of work and the people who access her place of work. Having her working at the Crescent makes me, and other parents, want to use the centre more.

For all her hard work she does in the centre. Helping any parent with any problems. For her hard work in organising events, as with the recent event. She is very approachable and will put things aside to help you with any problems.

Has made our October half-term fantastic. Organised a brilliant fundraiser, everything ran smoothly, fantastic turnout. An amazing amount of money was raised, goes to show how well organised it was. Caz also organised a fabulous Halloween disco -fantastic turnout again.

Fantastic activities over half-term. Very good fundraiser to raise funds for the hospital after losing a parent to cancer. Also fabulous Halloween disco- standing room only. Enjoyed by everybody. Everybody enjoyed circusology too.

I have enjoyed my stay at Abbots House. Staff are very good and they work hard. The cleanliness is 100%.

After the recent admittance of my father in law, and saw the total renavation of marrow house, I was totally amazed that it had been done, well over 12 months. I was in awe at how well kept and clean it is! The standard I feel is a well marked 5 star. Therefore, I wish to put forward a nomination for the team of domestics (cleaners) , which I truely believe keep marrow house on the map for the wow factor, when you step through those doors!

They are kind, considerate and supporting and have always treated me with respect. They are worth their weight in gold to me. I cannot praise them enough.

It was a very difficult thing for us as a family to leave our beloved mum in respite at the age of 93. We felt quilty as though we were abandoning her. However, mum has flourished. This is due entirely to the lovely girls who not only cared for her needs but showed her love, kindness and respect. Our only sorrow is that she could not stay. Thank you to you all.

Nominating because of his professional and prompt help and advice after my calls re roof repair not performed. Mark kept me informed of his progress chasing up the 18-month delay. He is a credit to the council - polite, courteous and showing empathy. PS Roof still not repaired - no date given.

His understanding, professionalism and polite way of helping us restored our faith in people. He is a credit to the benefits section of this council.

She sorted my problem out quickly and efficiently, and with a smile on her face.

Always there if we need her. Nothing is too much trouble. Always got a lovely disposition and always smiling. Always willing to do anything for us and very kind. Responds to our calls immediately and very helpful with everything. A1 in everything.

She was marvellous when dealing with me. I am caring for my elderly and bedridden father so all my benefits were all over the place and normally it would take me a few visits to sort out (visits I can ill afford because I want to spend as much time as I possibly can with my father). She was an absolute star in sorting everything out for me.

Very friendly lady, was very fast at sorting my claim out.
