Its hard to pick out a single carer at the Meadows each being a friendly and caring person, but Debbie seems to stand out above the others this being because she is never without a smile or a laugh for the patients and their visitors. Nothing seems to be to much trouble for Debbie which i think we all apreciate.But thanks to all the staff for looking after my mother Ethel Brough.

When I have gone to the One Stop Shop she has helped me in a very friendly manner and I have left knowing what I need to do.

Very caring and helpful, nothing is too much trouble they are all very kind.

They have helped me a lot, they are both kind and helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them.

They are so helpful in all they do, nothing is too much trouble very caring and helpful in everything what I ask. Excellent. Last year 2009 I came in very poorly, went home a new woman. I hope it works this time.

Sandy does care, she makes things easy, also listens to what one has to say, helps in every way, if they are all like her it would be great. I say thank you Sandy, keep the good work up, you are so kind. P.s. All the girls I have been seen to have been very kind.

Mr Wood made appointments to bring a telephone and explain everything. He is extremely well mannered, smartly dressed and very patient. He made a second call and remedy the phone fault. I am very, very satisfied with the job he has done. He is a credit to the firm he has earned and deserves the wow award.

We had never had any experience in care homes so we were very worried about leaving Freda but as soon as we arrived the staff were all very nice and keen to put all our worries aside. The house is a lovely bright and happy place to come. Well have no reservations about sending Freda again. A big thank you to all.

I was very pleased with the way I was instructed how to operate the bath chair in simple terms and organising the raising of my chair for more comfort.

We were in a very stressful situation, John was referred to work with us, since then we now dont have any financial stress, the property has been improved and we have a much improved quality of life. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for John and her is always there if we need him. Providing a good service for the council.

She is hard working and goes out of her way to help people, especially the residents of Lady Bennett Court. Everyone comments on how good she does her job.

This lady has been first class for me. My being 82 years old and needing some care after having 2 hip replacements and 5 other operations. Liz Barratt was quick to give information and help if needed, because I could not get into my bath due to my replacements. I am very much indebted to her for arranging me a bathroom (wet room) so I would like to thank her once more.

I am writing to you to let you know how much I appreciate the work and care your staff have given to me these last few weeks. I would not have been able to do what I have done without their help. I have enjoyed going for dinner and to visit Forest Park it was lovely and I also appreciate them taking me shopping, especially for my wedding clothes and taking me out on the scooter they have a lot of patience. Please thank Rob and the ladies for me. I know I have not finished with you yet but it cant be far off, thank you all.

My friend is staying at The Meadows after having a new knee. He is 86 years of age and the care he is receiving is excellent, from medical, food, cleanliness and staff! You can not fault it at all, the staff really are very very good indeed. Thank you and all concerned.

Nothing is too much trouble for any if the children in his charge. Hannah, who will not go with any stranger will now go to him.

My first contact with Lynn was amazing. My Mum had just been admitted for 2 weeks respite care at Marrow House,Longton, and Lynn was bringing my Mum out of the bathroom having just given her a bath. On seeing me she immediately asked if I wanted a cup of tea whilst I settled Mum into her room. I was absolutely shocked to think that this person, who had not seen me before,and had just spent time helping Mum to bathe (not an easy task as she can be quite grumpy when asked to move around some) and Lynn was quite prepared to make me a cup of tea. Since then I have seen Lynn always treating the patients with dignity and respect and being very attentive to the patients wants and needs. She always goes the extra mile to make the patients happy and reassures relatives that their vulnerable family member is confident and relaxed in their current environment. She is incredibly supportive and nothing is too much trouble. Wonderful service and a credit to the care home!

A most pleasant and polite gentleman whom was most helpful to myself. Steve gives every effort to excellent customer service.

What a lovely gentleman and indeed most helpful. Joshua certainly goes that extra mile to excellent customer service and is a credit to Stoke-on-Trent City Council, well done young man.

He has been exceptional in doing his job and more besides.

All were very good and its hard to choose one. I was upset to say goodbye and I will miss them kisses and hugs all around every dept, whether dining room, medical, social to many to say how much I loved them. I will them in every dept lovely knowning them all. It was hard saying goodbye, I loved you all.

All the while that my mum has been staying there she has received only the very best care. Nothing is too much trouble as they help my mum, Brenda Brown, me and my family. The place is immaculate, its like being in a 6 star hotel. Honestly, I thank them very much.

Great manner, good recomendations, found exactly what I wanted (all whilst the computers were down).

Nothing is too much trouble, he does his job without putting pressure on the person he is caring too. He taugh me how to use the computer in a matter of weeks, yet when I first came I was very nervous of the computer and the staff, he put me at ease, I cannot praise him and the other staff enough for help received.

They are fab! Their attitude is excellent and they are super efficient are their jobs. The service is enabling me to regain my independance following major surgery. Thank you!

If I never had the help I would have lost my tenancy as I got into a lot of debt. Also helping me move to a new home. Helping me sustain independant living. I have also gained more confidence to do things for myself without help.

The residency is spotlessly clean. All carers are pleasant, socialable. I recently came to meet social workers and sat in reception, every single member of staff that came through smiled and said good morning, wonderful.

Every single person was fabulous from the very first moment I walked in I though Wow! My Dad came in confused, upset and left a week later a new man. Well done to all of you. My fathers name was Bill McDonald.

Wajid has assisted to access other services/agencies. This has meant my living standard has improved. This service has been 100% successful.

This service has helped me greatly. I am a different person since having support from Community Supprt Team. I am a stronger and more independant person due to Wajid. I am getting the correct support for my needs. Wajid has assisted me to access other agencies/services. I have achieved my goals/targets and my problems have been resolved. I want to thank Wajid for his support as all this would not be possible without him.

Just wonderful and great. Lovely girls. Best care in the world.

For speaking to me in plain English and going the extra mile when I needed advice with my business and planning. Both guys gave me different options and followed up on my queries by writing/emailing.  More importantly, they both seemed human ;-) Keep it up

All the staff at Marrow House are all worthy of this award but Lynn was very attentive in her caring to my husband, he bonded with her and she took to him she is so pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for her to do. My husband was very apprehensive to go into respite but he has no hesitation to go there again.

Sarah was so helpful, pleasant and understanding when I had an interview with her on 29/5/10.

After I had my 5th child I got post natal depression and if it wasnt for the family suppport team I dont know what I would of done. I was finding it very hard to cope and when I was at my lowest they helped me. I knew I could approach them to talk to when times were hard they have taken me to hospital appointments and helped me with personnel problems if it wasnt for them I dont know how I would of coped. They have helped me recover from depression and even helped me with my confidence by engouraging me to join the group they have in the week for all families to meet and by joining a fitness group that has helped me to look after myself. They have helped me to realise that I am just as important as my children I am truly grateful to all of them for their support because if they were not around I dont know how I would of managed to care for my kids properly.

Just a few words to say one big thanks to William, who works in Tunstall Library. In September I needed help to access the US Embassy Visa Line to arrange my Visa. I started in September, then again in October, then again in February eventually I got my appointment through at the US Embassy all thanks to William and here I am visiting my sister, a trip I really never thought I would make because the US Embassy is only accessible on the computer and I could not use the computer very well, but William willingly gave me a hand and made sure I was on the right page. So I feel I have to tell you it is good to know there are still people who will help. So I have to let you know how valuable his help was to me.

She is very helpful and will go out of her way to help someone. Nothing is too much trouble for her and she helps me with my walking as I am recovering from a stroke.

Anne Marie was so friendly and put our minds at ease when my mum went into respite for the first time. She is such a lovely person and very caring.

Today Rebecca went that extra mile to being most helpful to me when I called into Blurton Council regarding my enquiry. I came away feeling most fortunate to have the excellent customer service.

Dawn is an outstanding member of Stoke on Trent City Council. This lovely lady alwasys goes that extra mile in customer service and gives 100% to us the tenants

Katrina always goes that extra miles in giving 100% effort and hard work to us the tenants. Amost outstanding and superb member of Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

Wajid has assisted in getting Mr Delves gardens, decorating done and assisted in a move to 2 bed flat that is easier for mr delves to manage now. He has helped him to manage his bills etc also inc rent. Mr Delves wants to say that Wajid is an outstanding young man who is very consciensious indeed.

The staff could not have been more helpful and caring to my wife during her stay at Marrow House.

Shes provided the sort of real, practical help that we needed! The house has been transformed and we are getting proper support. Jude Bradshaw has offered excellent advice and arranged for agencies whove upgraded our home and garden 100%

From the moment Stella walked into my home, she put me at my ease. She was respectful and caring. She suggested ways of improving my mobility with the aid of various appliances. I was in no way demeaned by her and my dignity was not threatened at any time. Nice to think there are still people like Stella with respect and empathy. Thank you sincerely Mary Benton. Good Luck

As I was going through rough time Wajid has helped me alot and 5 months later everything has chaned which couldnt have been done with out Wajid. Wajid went out of his way to help me and deserves this award, there arent many people like Wajid out there that help others. Wajid has helped get my tenancy secure and now that I got my confidence back am looking to go back into work and college.

I attended a funeral at Carmountside on 18/5/10. I was wandering around unsure where to go when a workman, who was busy working,looked up and asked if we were alright and could he help. He directed me to my Aunts internment and afterwards we were looking for my sister-in-law grave as we had lost our way due to being upset. Without hesitation, he rang someone on his mobile phone and then didnt simply point to the grave, he considerately walked with us to the graveside. He was a young man but showed a lot of care beyond his years (along with my cousin Mr A Bentley who was also impressed with him) and we definitely think this caring young man is a worthy to be nominated for a WOW Award.
