Recent Nominations

I had a change of circumstances in July last year. Although I provided a statement my Council Tax was wrong every month. The original statements went missing, wrong amounts were taken from my wages. Andy has had to ring the back office on numerous occasions to get it sorted over the last 4 months and it is now right. I am very grateful for the help he has provided.

Outstanding service, knowledge, a personal service and patience (the latter is something I dont possess!)

She is one of the most helpful and caring people I have ever met. She was kind to my friend (Lorna) nothing was too much trouble, she has a lovely smile and is perfect for the job. She has all the qualities of a wonderful care worker she would be the perfect person to receive a Wow! Award. Thank you.

I would like to nominate Ian and all the Joint Commisioning Unit (JCU) team for a WOW award after spending 2 weeks shadowing on a work experience placement. I not only enjoyed and learnt from the experience but witnessed their professionalism and dedication within their roles and to their customers. Very often frontline services receive praise but within the Civic Centre there are many more individuals who deserve a WOW award. Please forgive my emotion, I think you are truly wonderful. I was born and raised in Stoke-On-Trent and some of my family are burried at Carmountside. My Mum died in 1971. I was never given the chance to remember her - I was 3 yrs old when she died. I feel deeply traumatised by this and this year for the first time I made a long journey from ( my now home ) Ipswich to The Crem . I am so thankful I did. The garden of memorial is a special place. I laid some sweet williams for Mum ( I never knew her date of death before ) and for the first time felt a connection. When I read those words in the book of memorial it tore my heart apart - Tears roll down my face as I write this. Words cannot describe my thanks to you all. God bless you.

This lovely lady brings sunshine to the Council Offices and always has a smile for everyone. We the tenants are given 100% customer service from Shirley.

I thought the display at Tatton last year was wonderful but this year was even better. It was the star of the show! All involved should be very proud of what they have achieved.

A BIG BIG WOW! Full marks to everyone at The Meadows, you certainly know how to organise a party. Im talking about the one they put on for my mothers 100th Birthday. I cannot thank them enough, what with a visit from the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress, a presentation of a Stoke on Trent Centenary Plaque, the coverage by The Sentinel and a Telegram from Buckingham Palace a fantastic time was had by all. Thanks again to The Meadows Team.

She is patient, helpful and sympathetic. She has helped me immeasurably by her tact and she has gone the extra mile.

The different advisors I have seen over the past two months have been nothing but extremely helpful. I had to apply for a discretionary rent arrears award and also enquired of the help Id need. If I had been asked to leave my home in Normacot by the landlady (private). This had been resolved with her now and until I move away in the future my good relationship with my landlady has been restored.

She made me feel I was the only person she had to deal with all day.

She has a nice smile and was very polite and helpful and precise while helping me complete my housing benefits and council tax forms.

She is very good dealing with me. Her service is brilliant.

Earlier this year in February 2010 I was in hospital due to approximately 19 years of alcohol abuse. The doctor told me that I am lucky that I am still alive. I was at risk of losing my home and the debts were mounting up. I knew I had to do something but what? I was introduced to Wajid a Community Support Officer from Stoke on Trent City Council. From the first meeting he understood me, my problems/situation and put me at ease. Wajid has supported me to achieve many things i.e. access health services, counselling to assist me to stop drinking alcohol, it has been 5 months and I have not had any alcohol. I have started to clear my debts as Wajid has helped me to budget my money and they are slowly reducing. I am no longer at risk of losing my home and have a better relationship with my Housing Office. Wajid has helped me to gain day to day living skills, so in the future I will be able to deal with situations/problems myself. I have gained so much confidence and people do not recognise me. I would like this opportunity to thank Wajid for his support and hard work with myself and my family. Our future is looking a lot better due to Wajid. I truly believe without Wajids support that I would not be here today, this service has saved my life. This service has been 1st class and there is nothing I can fault or recommend to improve. Thanks again Wajid you are doing a great job!!

Joshua always goes the extra mile. He is polite, courteous and has excellent customer relation qualities.

They looked after my dad fantastically and always had time for him.

All the staff are more than very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Each member of staff is an absolute gem. The quality of the house and hygene is just fantastic. I cant fault anything.

She is very helpfull and lets us no whats going on and always asks if we are interested in any courses, lovely woman to chat with.

Very professional and good with the children.

They are very helpfull towards myself and my daughter. My daughter has also developed in all areas thanks to the staff.

Steph is an apprentice at the centre, she is so part of the team, always got a smile on her face and good with the children. Im always impressed by her. i think she is helpfull and friendly.

I find her polite, helpfull always seems happy, great with the children. always makes you feel welcome. I really enjoy bringing my girls to Stoke North all the staff are so very friendly

Joan serves really good home cooked food. She always makes you feel welcome, and is always happy. She can be really busy but she can always make time for you. She is so easy to talk to she is a loving, caring helpfull and considerate person.

Whenever I am in the centre I always find Charlotte very polite friendly helpfull. She always makes us feel welcome. If you need help or someone to talk to she is always there. The children love her and she is very good with them. All the staff in the creche make you feel welcome if I walk in feeling low I always walk out happier.

I owe alot to Nan she has helped me out with so much its hard to write it down what an amazing person she is. She works so hard but has always got time for you. She is such a loving, caring considerate person. Whatever ive needed she always tried to help, if she cant help she points me in the right way. She should have a very large WOW Award.

She cateres for all individuals, she is very pleasant and caring towards everyone.

The food is brilliant and always hot also very cheap, very nice person to talk to very friendly

She works exceptionally hard every week providing people with lovely healthy meals that are also very nutrisious and appertising. Thumbs up to Joan

Kelly has helped me and my daughter through a very tough time. Thanks to her my relationship with my little girl is alot better. I am much happier in myself thanks to Kelly.

During my wifes stay at Marrow House I have been greatly impressed by the dedication and commitment shown by all the members of staff. I have had the pleasure of attending the homes coffee mornings and it is easy to see the pleasure on the faces of all concerned during these functions. Well done.

9 July 2010 1st floor reference area. I was given their best attention to my requirements - Also one lady went to recover my walking stick when I had left on the second floor.

Shes very pleasant, great with all the residents and always finds time to have a talk to you.

She was interested in my concerns and listened attentively to me. She was very helpfull towards the issues that I told her about. Christine also gave me positive feed back and this is why I am nominating her.

Her overall manner was great. She was easy to understand and did her job very well. Brill!

Because of their kindness, dedication, commitment and motivation. They enabled my mother in law to be able to return to her own home following a period of time in hospital. Due to their professionalism my mother in law is again fully competent, has a good quality of life and WOW what a team.

Wow what can I say, they are dedicated, supportive, committed and enabled my mother in law to go home again after a period of time in hospital. They rebuilt her confidence, strength and ability to do things for herself again as she was a fully independant lady before she went in to hospital. They are stars, I can not put into words what they have done for us.

She was extremally helpfull over the viewing and array of questions that I asked, even with the directions on how to get to the Fenton Housing Office. Once again many thanks.

She is very helpful, friendly and always giving advice about anything and i think she would be great for this. Julia is excellent in her job and knows what she is doing. And also go out of her way to help people with difficulties.

Being under such stress at having to move home at 72 years old, she was extremely helpfull in all respects of the signing for my new home to be rented courtesy of Stoke-on-Trent Council. Many thanks to lynne and all concerned at the Fenton Office.

She has helped me return home. When i left home i never thought i would return, she has helped me go home a few hours at a time and access my community again. I have gone back to church and the over 55 club and today i go home for good. Its wonderful. Thank you

Respite care was provided for my father in a very friendly, caring and totally professional manner. I was very reassured at this level of care at a very difficult time. I feel that we are very lucky to have such an outstanding facility within this area.

No matter when you go to the home it is always spotlessly cleanand smells lovely and fresh. They are always pleasant and friendly and I think it is a credit to them just how clean they keep the home.

I would like this opportunity to say thanks to Wajid for his support. Since the support i have started to work and come off benefits. Wajid has understood me and my problems and has assisted me with many things. Wajid has helped me to budget my money so i will not go into debt. I am now able to deal with stuff myself.
