Dementia affects both the sufferer of the disease and the carer. To observe staff interacting and helping people to live and be at ease in a new and unfamiliar environment for a short respite stay means that I can as a full time carer have complete confidence and peace of mind for that respite period. This feeling of confidence in other peoples abilities is invaluable.

My mother (Alice Sweeney) is nearly 92 years old and living so far away from her I naturally have more than the usual concerns regarding her welfare. Knowing that she is in the care of Barry and Janet (also Christine) helps alleviate some of those concerns. I am notified immediately should she appear either unwell and ill kempt. During the recent bad weather, hot meals were brought to her home regardless of the road conditions. Barry has set up an email address so that she can be in touch with her grandsons and I. Wonderful Christmas entertainment! To take her there 3 days a week certainly alleviates her boredom.

Very impressed with the quality of care shown to the residents by the caring staff. This was especially noticable, being a podiatrist in quality of the hygiene of the residents feet. What a pleasant change to find podiatry patients in a care/residential home with clean feet. Also very firendly, helpful staff in a very nice environment.

I want to thank Wajid Hamid my Community Support Officer for the hard work and support he has given to me and my family. I have come across a number of support professionals due to my disability but I can safely say that Wajid has been one of the best support workers I had to work with. I believe that this is due to the fact that he genuinely wants to make a difference. He is very professional, he listens to what I say and gives me good advice. I do not know what I would have done without Wajid. He has helped me and my family to settle into our new home by getting the property decorated, carpeted, furnished and assisting with so much more.

The bin collectors have provided an excellent service all year round. My bin has always been emptied on the specified day and never left full. Importantly the staff make no unnecessary noise and are courteous and polite.

The food and care is wonderful and the council should see it still stays open, old people need places like this. I know the government are cutting the allowances everywhere but The Meadows deserve every penny off the council for the home, not cuts. Thanks again everyone.
