Because of their consistant support, help, care, understanding, everything! The best phone call I ever made was to the childrens centre. They were there in half an hour and they have been there ever since. All of them, for me and my children and my boyfriend. They dont judge they just listen, care, support, respect - make you cups of tea. They are ace. My life has changed so much because of all of them.

Jude gave me really good support, she was outstanding with what she did for me and helped me around my home, she did so much for me she has made a real difference. She also engaged gardening help for me and contract help which was really really appreciated.

Hi there, I would like to nominate in particular, this time, Barbara Hurlstone-Johnson (assistant manager), and June. Saturday 29th Jan, it was my sister Joans 80th birthday. My husband and I went to take cards and a present to Joan. Taking with us our two grandsons, Michael aged 10 and James aged 8. She was really pleased to see us, and to meet the children for the first time. When we arrived, Joan was sitting in a chair with her other presents by her side and a balloon flying above her. Her cards were set out on the shelf above a banner stating Happy birthday, which my sister Barbara had taken. She had had her nails painted and her hair looked lovely, as usual. I remarked to my husband, and June (the carer) that she was obviously happy with her life, as for an 80 year old she does not have any lines on her face! Both Barbara and June were there making sure that the residents were happy and had all they needed. Indeed, Barbara very kindly made a drink and gave a sweet to our grandsons, which they were pleased with and which we thought was very kind. June told us that she had taken Joan out for a trip to Hanley on a bus, a little while back, which she would have greatly enjoyed since she has never been on a bus before. The two ladies that I have mentioned deserve to be recognised, as do the other carers at Abbots House, who are too many to mention here, as kind caring people who do a wonderful job of looking after loved ones in the home. Linda was very helpful in helping me with changing my housing and council tax benefits in one day. She was very polite and pleasant at all times.

Debbie was one of the team who provided my domiciliary rehab recently at my home and she is an outstanding member of staff who was very helpful and communicable and also highly motivating.

I lived at my previous address for 35 years. I had no idea how to go about changing my rent and council tax to my new address, this was done within an hour. Benefit claims were sorted, change of doctors, advice on home-help, everything was sorted, parts that I didnt understnad were put in writing for me to digest at home. Thanking this couple very much.

I got excellent service when I came in to sort out one or two things and got a smiling face instead of a grumpy one.
