23179. Suzanne Barnett
I am a social work student and Suzanne has been my supervisor/ Practice Educator throughout my practice learning opportunity of 110 days. Durng this time I have had the privilege to observe and learn from Suzannes practice. Suzannes commitment and dedication towards best outcomes for service users and their families/carers has been an inspiration. She has a very sensitive and respectful approach with all, from individuals in need, to professionals from all disciplines, often in very difficult and complex situations. Suzanne ensures that the individuals best interests remains the central focus and she maintains professionalism at all times. My nomination is for the positive effect Suzanne has had on my own practice together with the positive outcomes achieved for so many individuals in need.

23106. Richard Kelsall
I have never had to claim any sort of benefit before and very recently found myself having to claim housing and council tax benefit. I attended the Stoke One Stop Shop at Stoke Library and was seen by Richard Kelsall. He was so friendly and helpful and sorted my claim out really quickly and efficiently. He answered all my questions and took the time to explain the details of my benefit award. I was so impressed with his attitude and his efficiency that I wanted to nominate him for this award.

22931. Anne Denton
This letter was sent in the post in December 2011 but was never received at Stoke-on-Trent City Council: My father lives in QE2 Court, on the 5th of October 2011 my father had to be admitted urgently into Stafford Hospital for a Total left knee replacement. Because of his other health problems we were told that he may not survive the operation, could have a stroke or a heart attack, it was a very worrying time. He did pull through and was discharged on Friday 14th October 2011 into my care. He was very frail and had lost 3stone 7lbs he was really poorly and could hardly stand, he also kept falling over, and came home with a knee infection. There are too many other problems to go into so i will leave it at that. The nature of this letter is to let you know what a wonderful job Anne did. Her support and advice was invaluable, and i can honestly say I would not have got through it without her. I was off for 3 weeks spending more or less 24 hours a day with my dad. I returned to work for 3 days per week feeling secure in the fact that Anne was there calling on my dad every day to make sure he was ok and she would ring me on my mobile if there were any problems. Anne even went so far as putting my dads lunch (which I had prepared the previous day) into the mircowave as he could not stand. She would talk to my dad to reassure him about any worries he had, which helped enormously. She organised a key safe which was installed the following day after she had suggested it. As he started to get a little stronger Anne made sure he was involved in any activities which had been organised. Anne does a great job organising different activities/events for the residents within QE2 Court. I could go on and on. Anne has always been there for me and my dad. But this last 3 months she has been brilliant. It is so nice to know there is someone there that you can turn to for advice and support, she has given me the strength to get through a very difficult time. I can not praise her enough. She has gone more than an extra mile. You have a one in a million with Anne. She is a credit to you and we are very lucky to have her as our scheme coordinator. New in post scheme coordinators could learn alot from Anne. She has it just right. I will be forever in her debt. Dad is doing a lot better now and is becoming independent again. Unfortunately he has to go through the same again in February 2012 when he his other knee done. But i know now that things are in place and Anne will be there for us both. I would also like to thank the other scheme coordinators who cover for Anne when she is off, as they are brilliant. Yours Sincerely. Linda Hudson.

22956. Marie Davies
Unfortunately I fell foul of scammers on my pc to whom I paid quite a lot of cash via my credit card. Marie listened to me patiently, took action immediately and also gave me good advice as to what I should do. I have received a full refund from the scammers, due I believe, to Maries actions. I am 80yrs old and I should have known better, but the scammers were so clever. I understood I was dealing with Microsoft. I really feel this success was due to Maries actions and that she deserves a WOW award. Kind regards, Gladys Whittaker.

23066. Gareth Portlock
Gareth was able to resolve an issue with a supplier in Birmingham. The service he delivered was first class as he kept me updated every step of the way. He was professional and efficient in his dealings with myself and was able to "cut to the chase" in a remarkably short time. I congratulate him and the department for their support of the business community in our City.

On Wednesday 23 May my sister was taken into hospital, Mrs Lorraine Leigh was her care worker on that day. She was so helpful and efficient and pleasant.
