16353. Zoe Smith
Centre: Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre
Zoe is consistantly polite, helpful and approachable. Furthermore, one day I was in a terrible rush for work after a gym workout, I had forgotten my towel and she kindly ran to Tesco to buy me one so I could get ready for work. She literally mad my day!

16354. Michael Lambert
Centre: Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre
I would like to pass on the collective view of a few of the crew to nominate one of our casual staff, Michael Lambert, for a WOW Award. On Thursday 22/09/2011 Michael was entering the work car park, and witnessed an elderly man, George, fall as he was crossing the road. Michael abandoned his car in our entrance and brought George into our Stage Door area, called for first aid and also asked one of the crew to call for an ambulance. Michael remained with George throughout, assisting the paramedics when asked. We feel this is an extreme act of kindness, and compassion. And feel it deserves a WOW award.

16223. Saxon Staff
Centre: Saxon Pool and Leisure Centre
Unmotivated, insecure, no confidence and morbidly obsess, that was me when I walked through those doors. I had spent years battling with my weight and the doctors said that I had to act fast. I feared the gym as I visioned lycra and men and women with athletic stamina. Thanks to the induction on a one to one basis I had with Shaun, it left me realising it wasn’t like that at all. Wendy had taken the time to explain how I was feeling and just how nervous I was. Infact if it wasn’t for Wendy I wouldn’t have joined at all. The biggest turning point for me was sitting down with Claire W and telling her just how I felt on the inside, Claire gave me so much encouragement and soon became my motivator and she was determined to help me get to try new things. I wanted to try Aqua tone but was too scared and ashamed. Claire talked it through and I agreed to try her class, with lots of encouragement I did it and loved it!! Soon Claire had the team on board - Claire B, Laura C and even the lifeguards were all encouraging me and asking how it was going. The hardest thing is walking through those doors, but Carlie and Louise were so friendly and Carlie was so kind and made me laugh, which really helped on bad days. I have gone from doing nothing, to doing gym, Aqua tone, Zumba, and I even take my nephew swimming. At over 3 stone lighter I still have a very long weight loss journey ahead of me but I know with the continued support of the Saxon team I WILL GET THERE! Thank you to all the Saxon team for your continued support in helping keep people like me motivated. I am slowly building my confidence up but I still have a long way to go. The whole Saxon team, you are all fantastic.

16010. Jane Thomas
Centre: Royston Leisure Centre
Jane is the best aqua teacher I have ever had and I have been doing these classes for 10 years. She is always updating her teaching, she makes it fun to exercise as well as being very professional. A lovely person.

16011. Amanda Drage
Centre: Royston Leisure Centre
With only 1/2 an hour to go before the start of "Step & Tone", the teacher called to say she couldnt work. Amanda stepped in with no preparation, being newly qualified, and never having taught a group class before. The feedback from the customers was fantastic, and Amanda really went over and above to prevent a class being cancelled.

15989. Angie Truby
Centre: North Herts Leisure Centre
Angie has greatly encouraged my children to learn to swim. Unfortunately, my son has now stopped as the chlorine makes him unwell (in this pool and others) but he would not have attained levels 6/7 without such a good instructor.
