Basingstoke and North Hampshire NHS Foundation Trust (BNHFT) provides acute hospital services to a population of around 300,000 patients in Basingstoke, Tadley, Alton and Bordon as well as surrounding towns and villages in north and mid Hampshire and west Berkshire. The WOW! Awards are developed by Derek Williams, who is one of Britain’s leading customer service gurus and public speakers. The purpose of The WOW Awards is to recognise companies that aim to deliver fantastic customer service and those who aim to go the extra mile for their customers. BNHFT invites patients and visitors to nominate individual staff or teams for these awards. There are five categories of award:
This category is looking to reward individuals or teams that exceed patient/visitor expectations, making their stay or visit more memorable.
This award is designed to recognise and reward individuals and teams who have gone above and beyond their formal, identified job duties to exceed the needs of our patients, visitors and staff.
The purpose of this ward is to recognise those that consistently set a high standard of clinical excellence through improvement in systems that result in the reduction of potential harm to patients or help to create and promote a culture of openness, sharing and learning.
This award is given to an individual or team who has developed and implemented an innovative idea in medicine, technology, education or finance with the proven potential to make a significant contribution or change to improving efficiency, cost reduction, technology or changes in practice.
This award recognises individuals who can demonstrate by their own actions they have changed or inspired others to reduce the carbon footprint (e.g. energy saving, recycling, reduction in waste).
