23523. Debbie Newman
Debbie is very professional and supportive in her post and is always on board with her work. She was always able to find the time to sit and talk things through with you even if you have any worries or upset. She always came round to see if I was all right and see if I needed to have a chat. She was always there if I needed any help right through the day. I found she was the best midwife I had and she deserves a medal, because she is so good and her work and works very hard.

23524. Janette Mayo Thompson and Liz Quinn
Janette and Liz took care of myself and my baby girl who was born 6 weeks early, on my first night on pearl ward I was really worried that i would not wake up in the night when my baby girl needed me ( I am profoundly deaf). Janette and Liz came up with the idea of bringing my monitor in from home (vibrating one) and found me an empty side room as I was able to use the monitor. With their professional easy going manner I felt more at ease in caring for my baby. My stay in hospital was nearly two weeks in which i didnt leave the 4th floor. Some nights were really emotional about being stuck in the same room for so long and their bubbly outgoing personalities made me feel so much better and kept me sane! Thank you to Janette and Liz, I will always remember you both and everything you have done for us

Nothing was ever any bother, we feel they all gave 120% and much more. Please make these very these very special people aware of there great team spirit.

23527. Mrs Kate Davis
Never having met Mrs Davis I feel justified in nominating her for a wow award. In october 2011 I had my right ankle fused. The operation was not a great success due to infections. I was in considerable pain for many weeks each time I rang her officeshe showed a very caring attitude and put herself out to ensure all was in place for my next operation. Now a week after the op which I thank Mr Shariff all seems well. For her caring attitude towards me I nominate Kate a great asset to the department

23529. Coleen Jones Tracy Wells, Cheryl Martin, Melanie and Eugenia
I was admitted to Nelson ward towards the end of May until June 4 and was treated with the utmost care and attention, in particular the staff named above. Nothing was too much trouble and for any one of them and I strongly feel that they should each be recognised for their dedication and detail. I am terrified of hospitals and all that goes on in the medical ward but was made comfortable and welcome during my 2 stays. My sincere thanks to all.

23257. David
On the 31st of May 2012 I had to attend the fractur clinic after having broken my ankle abroad. David took the old plaster off and removed the staples from my wound and replasterd my leg all the way through the procedure he told me what was happening and when I felt unwell he was quick to spot what was going on and sorted it out before I could even tell him I was feeling ill. I was feeling very nervous having not had any problems in the past with my health also one of your auxillary nurses was so kind to me I feel that if all your staff are this professional we indeed have a great hospital at Medway.

23305. Gundulph ward medway maritime hospital
I wish to nominate the WHOLE team on Gundulph ward, I could not fault their outstanding care for my father who was a patient there 8th - 12th June this year. The care and attention he received from every single person we came into contact with, from the Drs, nurses (especially) catering and cleaning staff was absolutely outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble, nothing was hurried and in no way were we ever made to feel a nuisance. I have never come across such dedication and caring in all the time I have dealt with this hospital on my fathers behalf. Every single staff member carried out their duties always with a smile and loads of kind words. Every day we came to be with my father my family and I were newly impressed that our expectations were exceeded time and time again. Our thanks and gratitude go to this wonderful team of extradinary people.

23493. Mr Kasem and Breast Care Team
Mr Kasem and his team have been brilliant, throughout my treatment. They have been there 24/7 and have informed me every step of the way. I cannot fault the team, Mr Kasem even has his own nurses come out to your home to treat you so that you are in your own environment to help you feel better. These people need to be nominated as they do a brilliant job and make you feel there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I feel sure I recovered quicker because of this team.

23494. Mr Barbaccia and the surgical team
I came in for a semi thyroidectomy, very scared initially, the Anaesthatist her assistant and the theatre assistant were very kind and understanding, held my hand and the anaesthetist reassured me everything was going to be ok. It was in essence she made sure I stayed alive, you dont get more Wow than that! Mr Barbaccia and his assistant surgeon (who I met before the operation) did a fantastic job- the operation was a success and they did extremely well in avoiding the vocal chord which can be stretched, damaged or even severed in this operation. I was cared for extremely well in recovery by a lady, I cant remember her name. I cant thank these people enough, I really cant.

23212. Margaret, Tracy and Stacey
Margaret and Tracy were my nurses at Medway when I had a procedure to remove a wider area around a previously removed diagnosed melanoma. Both were fantastic and totally made me feel at ease with treatment, and were intuitive enough to know when I needed to be talk to. Both were extremely caring and made me feel very special to them before, during my operation and afterwards. Totally invaluable to the dermatology team!!

23057. Tennyson Ward Staff
I was recently admitted to Tennyson ward, being a 25 year old I knew that I would be the youngest patient on the ward. However, from the moment I was wheeled onto the ward the care that I received was out of this world. I was admitted with a viral infection which caused me to have a severe headache, photophobia and bad neck ache. The staff ensured I was placed in side room and the staff ensured all the lights were turned off. Whenever they came into the room they were as quiet as they could be. The staff were all very kind, considerate and caring. Whenever I rang for them they came immediately. Thank you all for making my stay as comfortable as possible.

23063. Lindsey
My mother, Dorothy Fielding, has recently been discharged after a lengthy stay on Byron Ward. All the nursing staff were excellent - compassionate, understanding, empathetic, polite and caring. As a family we were so often greeted with a warm smile and a few caring words by the Ward Sister, Lindsey, when we visited our Mum.Personally, having recently undergone surgery myself, Lindsey found time to ask after my health too - and even gave me advice on my care.A great nurse and caring person who eased the pain of seeing a loved one having to have a prolonged hospital stay - thank you.

23068. Michelle Boorman
I was the Staff Nurse working on the observation Ward on the 6/6/2012 with Michelle Boorman a CSW providing support. Throughtout the shift Michelle worked extremely hard and diligently. This positive and professional attitude to her job and care of patients proved to be a real asset while I was busy spending a great amount of time with a very ill patient Michelle admitted two new patients, ensured that all welfare needs of other patients were met and stayed beyond her shift time without complaint until we had ensured that all the patients were suitable for handover to the night staff. I feel that she undoubtly deserves some recognition for her postive and proactive approch to supporting her collegues and providing outstanding care to patients.

23070. Jo???
At around 2225 on 31.5.12. in the ED bay/cubicle area Jo came in and said she was trying to arrange transport back to St. Barts for Joan D Sketchley as Joan was very concerned and getting agitated about having to have an overnight stay at MFT. Jo made a considerable effort to arrange this, which was now out of hours for the patient transport service. Unfortunately this was not possible and Jo had to break the news to Joan. While doing all this, Jo displayed exemplary compassion and a professional manner when communicating with and calming down this frightened and partially deaf elderly patient.
