24355. Dr Steve Norman
I would like to ask if your hospital hold a Doctor of the year award or if you commend Doctors for their hard work and commitment. I know all Doctors work hard, but I feel that Mr Norman is outstanding and goes above. All his time is dedicated to his work, he is amazing and goes out of his way for his patients!! Nobody Ive had contact with can find a fault with this man, he is highly spoke of by patients and colleagues, he is, I feel in some need of recognition for all his effort and hard work. I know GPs get GP of the year or Practice of the year. Many thanks

24290. Dr Funmi
Dr. Funmi made me feel very at ease when I came into A&E. I was a bit scared, as any time I have had to come into A&E I have been hospitalised. She made every test that she was doing as easy as possible and explained what she was doing, why she was doing it, how she was doing it and explained any results which put my husband and I at ease. I was admitted to hospital on the Sunday and Dr. Funmi saw me on Wednesday and immediately recognised me and enquired on my health and how I was doing. To me that was an extra touch especially her remembering me considering the amount of patients that she would of seen.

24295. Hayley Mullins
Ive been a patient in McCulloch ward for over 12 weeks now and have seen many staff pass through during this time. Hayley without doubt is head and shoulders above most of them, theres not been one particular experience thats made me go wow but just the attention to detail Hayley pays. She is the only Clinical Support Worker who makes sure our hands are clean before we eat, also she is the only one who tilts the bed at the proper angle when made. I have also seen Hayley spend time with the elderly patients encouraging them to eat when others have given up. Hayley also regulalry checks that we are ok without us having to buzz. You always hear about the bad stuff that goes on, I really feel Hayley should be rewarded for all her good hard work.

24304. The Interventional Radiology Team
Yesterday I had an angiogram and throughout my short stay I was made to feel I ws the only patient in the Hospital. The entire staff made time to listen and patient comfort is obviously a top priority. Every request was dealt with instantly, the whole team deserve a gold medal for their unstinting devotion to patient care, despite working in an exceedingly busy department. I would like to say a big thank you for all your care.

24305. Lorna Bean
I recently attended the Parkinson clinic of Dr Menem in Medway Maritime Hospital hosted by nurse Lorna Bean. I was immediately impressed by her gentle approach and in particular her ability to seek replies from me without medical terminology. Her professional knowledge was so evident. I mentioned an in house difficulty my wife had in a completely different department yet she volunteered to walk my wife and I to another floor in her lunch break. She also obtained a trolley for my disability and finally accompanied us to the bus terminal. This was most magnanimous of her during her personal time. If this is the forefront of todays NHS, may her sincere dedication, knowledge and patient empathy be recognised in high places. This certainly engenders a feeling of confidence of well weing in the patient. I shall look forward to seeing her again in my next visit.

24308. Tania & Hayley
I would like to nominate Tania and Hayley the Tissue viability Nurses at the Maritime Hospital for their care and consideration they have given me. I have suffered with leg ulcers for the last 15 months, after seeing various nurses and doctors I was referred to the maritime a few months ago. Two weeks ago when my dressings were removed and I saw my legs were dry & healing I couldn’t have been more excited if I had won the lottery. My many thanks to these dedicated nurses. Now hopefully I will get a new hip that I have been waiting for.

24313. Anne McKinnon
Since my sons stay she has done her best to make his stay a fun, happy and enjoyable one. Also making sure I was OK and even sitting with Cam while I showered! She then made a torch from several materials and involved staff and other families in Medway Maritimes very own torch relay! Then spent time with Cam building a dino play park! Also enrolled Hannah and Cam in making a giant banner for when the carries the torch on Thursday! Bringing bamboo sticks from home to hold up the banner. Did her best to try to source a mobile hoist by getting the right people involved. Cam loves her to bits and now doesn’t want to go home! Shes lovely, bright and bubbly and deserves recognition for making Cams long stay a very happy one!

24511. Rose Felton
Rosie is a fantastic member if the urology team, after a long wait to find out what was wrong. Mr marsh found interstital cystitis throughout my treatment Rosie has been amazing, she knows its hard to have cathator for my treatment shes always very understanding giving me the time I need. Also when needing a Urodynamic test she arranged with the nurse who does it for her to come down to put all my tubes ect in. Rosie didnt have to do this but she always puts others first, instead of just putting it in and going she stayed right next to me throughout the full procedure. Also when waiting to speak to another urologist in area 1/2 if Rosie is there she will always make time to talk to you enen if its a quick hello how are you or a full convosation. Rosie also has amazing people skills, she will remember everything you say to her and will always bring up things in other convosations that youve talked about forums is normallu our spaniels. Rosie deserves more then just this award, shes the most amazing women, nurse and person. She can put you at ease in seconds and always makes time ( as well as running on time). If it wasnt for Rosie I wouldnt be so open to trying new things for my treatment. Shes a real gift to the hospital and anyone who gets to have her care.

23967. Dr P Williams and Lyn and Rene
These are 2 people I have to see. Everytime they are always pleasant and they do not look down on you. These last few months I went through a very bad spell and they spent the time to talk and give advice. They go out of their way to make one feel comfortable. i am not the only one my friends at Rheumatology say the same. i am on the mend because of their patience and kindness, they deserve a wow award.

23854. Yushreen Vadamootoo
I have just undergone radical cancer treatment at Medway Maritime. Yushreen was my night nurse from July 2nd to July 4th. Nothing was too much trouble for her. I could see in her eyes that she really cared about me personally. She was always happy but never over powering, sympathetic but never condescending. Yushreen lifted my spirtits. She did her job with care, professionalism and attention to detail. I hope that many other patients are able to benefit from her care. She is a wonderful nurse and should be given an award. Thank you

23912. Lizzie, Agnes and Julie
I was an inpatient on Sunderland Ward from 3rd July to 5th July with severe abdominal pain and sickness. The care I received from all members of staff on the ward was exceptional. I am a nurse myself at Canterbury and found it difficult being a patient and probably didnt make it easy for the nurses to look after me. However, despite being run off of their feet they cared for me amazingly. Special mention has to go to my named nurses over the 2 days- Julie (night shift), Agnes and Lizzie (day shifts). Unfortunately I do not know their surnames but I hope it is possible to let them know how grateful I am to them. They deserve a WOW award.
