Ran the extra mile for us - all deserves a gold medal!

Having spent 4 months ( Jan to April 2012) suffering from Acute Myeloid Leukaemia I would like to nominate all of Lawrence Ward staff for their kindness, skill and dedication in my treatment which has put my illness into remission.

Always provides a professional service with kindness and cheerfulness. Very helpful and puts you at ease.

I think Dave and Bruce are really cool ! They were nice and friendly and helped me relax. When they put my plaster on they didnt make any mess . They were really fun and good to talk to and I want them to have a wow award. This is by Keran Cooper aged 9.As a parent I was very impressed with Bruce and Daves child friendly attitude.

Im a very frequent inpatient, and they are always so kind, honest, attentive and caring. Words cant say how well the ward is run and how great and professional all of the staff were. They are very patient with me and the severe pain I suffer when in hospital.

Most attendant person on the ward. Has got a very positive attitude to nursing and is able to pick up on certain things on the care side.

After 2 weeks of having a temporary plaster, very uncomfortable on a very painful broken wrist, I met Bruce. He painlessly removed my plaster and fitted a new light weight plaster. He was gentle, cheerful, filled me with confidence that I would be more comfortable and did an excellent job. If you are unfortunate and have a fracture, Bruce is you man. Thanks you

My grandson has recently been in hospital and this lady works so very hard, she gave us a cot mobile and weny out of her way to help us and other families. She took two upset children to theatre and according to their parents she was able to settle and calm them down. Nothing was a problem whenever we asked for something she would go out of her way to help. She gave the children plenty to do at their bed and also things to do in the playroom. What a happy lady, busy on the go all the time with a happy smile. She deserves an award.

I have got Multiple Sclerosis. My Consultant is Dr Sam Chong and we are lucky to have 2 yes 2 MS nurses Sylvia Hurst and Darren Little. The 3 of them, speaking as their patient cannot do enough to help you feel well again!During the Diamond jubilee Golden I had a bout of Optic Neuritis in my right eye. I am not one to trouble these very over worked, busy people. It showed no sign of going away. So eventually I left a message asking one of the nurses to ring me and i left my name and telephone number. A little time went by and i got no call, so just thought had this 2 weeks now it..it will just go soon.Then out of the blue on a Saturday my phone rang I instantly recognized Sylvies dulcet tone, SYLVIE I exclaimed how good to hear your voice, how are you? Mores to the point she said how are you? Why are you calling me on a SATURDAY Sylvie? Because we have so much work on and just not enough time to get through it in the week there is just so much, and not enough time. Sylvie listened with concern to my explanation as to what was wrong with me. From that Saturday she had rang me between the joint effort of Darren and Sylvie Dr Chong had recommended and authorized that my GP Dr Faramawi write and issue me with a prescription 5 day course of STEROIDS, that I could pick up from Boots. Yesterday 15th August in the morning with my breakfast I took my last 5 pills. Thanks to this Fabulous group of 3 I am well again and I see and feel a little of the old Jan before I had MS in 1984.WOW! DR CHONG, SYLVIE AND DARREN YOU REALLY ARE THE BEST WE ARE SO LUCKY TO HAVE YOU IN MEDWAY...I SAY AGAIN.......WOW

I would like to nominate everyone for the amazing care both my and my son received while we were on the T/C ward. Nothing was too much to ask and everyone was so friendly and attentive making what is an emotional time easier to cope with. Really cannot praise this hard working team enough. Thank you once again.

Many thanks for making me an early morning coffee with my own bottle of "camp coffee" when I woke up earyl between 5.30 and 6.00am. I dont know what I would have done without my early morning drink. Also she was always bright and ready with things to make me laugh when I was feeling down. She really made my stay so much better and was always ready to go that extra mile for anyone.

They were very caring and very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. As a patient I could not ask for more as I felt well cared for, supported and safe as I had just been admitted and quite scared.

From the moment I arrived at A&E scared, stressed and vunerable these two absolute angels went above and beyond to make me feel as comfortable as is possible when you have a health scare. They made sure not only myself but also my husband had a cuppa. Because of my circumstances I was going to discharge myself as I couldnt see another choice despite my heart being damaged. They were very kind and gentle and so very patient and understanding. They listened to everything we said so we felt human for the 1st time in a long time. They made sure a meal time wasnt skipped and they helped me feel calm and dignified in extreme circumstances and this enabled me to accept that I needed treatment. I do not know of anyone who could deserve this award more than these two wonderful nurses. This paragraph barely expresses what a difference they made to my life and future. I would never have sought the treatment I urgently needed without them. My grateful, eternal thanks to their excellence

I recently underwent surgery at Medway Hospital under Mr Edrees. I had an annurism removed but it was an extremely difficult area. I had such confidence having everything explained both before and after the surgery. I cannot praise the team too highly for their care and I can now continue my life safely.

I was very anxious coming to the clinic and everyone was calm, friendly and gave clear information. Luckily I am ok and I would like to thank the whole team for their care of me today.

Big wow to a lovely lady called Tracy! Tracy is a person with a very high standard in customer service. She is simply amazing. I arrived late for my appointment today as I only passed my driving test and was driving to the hospital while using SATNAV. All went wrong and I was so flustered and upset after finally reaching reception that I burst into tears and could not speak a word at first and Tracy not only handed me a tissue but calmed me down and reasured me that it was not my fault that drivers behind were so impatient with me. I am definitely going to drive back home. Thank you Tracy!!

I found Ms Harnett totally understanding and caring. She recently forwarded my ear appointment as I was really suffering extremely. She is thorough , professional and very attentive. I have never been made to feeL that I have been inconveniencing her. To put it bluntly I dont know how I would cope without her care and nursing. She also explains what the problem is and why it occurs without rushing me out of the room.

I attended for the above procedure yesterday 11th July 2012 and naturally I was apprenhensive regarding undergoing minor surgery. These fears were quickly removed from the point of reception to the nurse doing vital readinds and the surgeon explaining the procedure and his attending staff. I was constantly asked was I ok and could I feel any pain or discomfort. I was treated with dignity and respect throughout the whole experience, also I was monitored and cared for after the operation. Top marks to the whole team for what seemed to me a professional job. Well done !!
