25354. Marion Baker
Having a baby is the most exciting, yet anxious time.My wife and I recently came to Medway Maritime Hospital for a first scan. We were both anxious, and whilst you may be complacent in thinking that Marion and her team deal with people like this every day, it should not be fogotten that despite that fact, they make you feel welcome, at ease and above all, confident that you have come to the right place to have your baby. From the minute we arrived, Marion and others were on hand to deliver a first class patient experience. The receptionist, the HCA, the Fellow, the Consultant - everyone took the time to speak with us, and make us feel at ease. We left feeling that we were in safe hands.Marion also said that she would call us in a couple of days with the results of the tests that we had - and without fail, she did as she promised. Its people like Marion that gives patients confidence in the service - my wife is much more relaxed about the pregnancy, and this is, in part, down to the experience she received. We are returning to Medway for a further scan at the end of September - we are actually quite excited about seeing our baby again - but this time, we attend without the anxiety. Its difficult to really say what the "Wow" factor is - but whatever it is, Marion and the team have it.

25312. Julie
My husband is in ICU for the second time this month and has been very poorly with GBS. Julie works non-stop attending to Michaels every need dealing with both his medical care and the many challenging logistical issues that come with undergoing plasmapheresis. She is extremely friendly, attending to both Michael and our own needs. She goes out of her way to keep us informed and makes sure that we understand how Michael is and what he is going through.

Nothing is too much trouble for Lee. He will help whenever and with whatever he can. 25040. Rene Van Vilsteren
I sent a form in for Dr Williams and Specialist Nurse Lynn. After I posted it I realised I had left someone out. I had to have Physiotherapy, and Rene helped me and at a very bad time, he talked me out of not giving in. He had patience and tried to make me laugh. He has a nack of getting through to people. I feel he deserves a Wow award to encourage him to do what he does best. How I am so pleased I listened to him.

25044. Darren Little and Sylvia Hurst
I apologise for the lateness of sending this in. On the 15th June Susan Norris had to attend the Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital for an appointment with the MS Nurse Specialist Darren Little. Unfortunately he was not able to attend, the consultation was held by Sylvia Hurst. Susan and I Michael Norris the main carer for her would like very much to nominate these 2 people for their true professionalism and the way they make people feel at ease during consultations. They clearly go above and beyond their call of duty. At this time it is very comforting to know that there is help and support out there when it is needed, We have had the experience of this from this wonderful team of professionals. Thank you

25050. Donna Moss and (apologies i dont have her name) the blonde nurse on duty
Overnight 28th July During a very difficult night when we knew our mothers life was ending, Donna showed extreme kindness and support not only to our mum but also to her relatives that sat by her bedside until she passed away. As soon as her condition started to deteriorate Donna acted promptly making sure our mum was pain free and reassuring the family. The other nurse provided us with drinks so we did not have to leave her bedside and asked if there was anything else we needed. Thank you for making Phylis Cavells parting as pain free as possible and thank you for the kindness and support you gave the family.
