This lady was the midwife who delivered my baby during my c.section. I had such a painful experience while they tried to get the spinal in due to my BMI and I cried like a baby but had to sit still. This woman took tissue and cleaned my nostrils as i cried although my husband was in the ward. I was so so touched. It's not something u do for someone u have never met. May not sound so WOW but think about it......would u?

31185. Annette Janes
I would like to nominate Anette Janes. She looked after me and although she didn't get to deliver my daughter she stayed with us throughout a transfer to the Delivery suite and a rather urgent and scary forceps delivery. My husband and I could not fault her kind and gentle nature and nothing seemed too much trouble. She not only cared for me and my daughter but also made sure my husband was ok and this meant a lot to both of us. Because of Anette Janes I have lovely memories of my time at The Birth Place. Looking back I wish I had been able to thank her Properly at the time. Thank you Annette.

30515. Samantha fairbairns
The reason Im nominating Samantha is simply because she is outstanding. Her ability to put people at ease and make them feel comfortable is just amazing she is not just there doing a job she listens and cares and gives the best service I have ever experienced Samantha helped me a great deal today seeing me ASAP putting my mind and rest that my hearing was not lost for good just yet. I was given time to explain my worries and understanding and patience I was spoken to with respect. I felt like Samantha dropped everything to see me and fix my aid check my ears. All this from a total stranger. This lady needs more than an award give her a gold medal. Hearing might not be important to most but when you loose it its everything. And Samantha understands that. She needs a wow a big WOW

30564. Louise Houston
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Oct 2010 and have recently transferred my care from a nearby hospital to Medway. I cannot express how much better the care has been and how supportive Louise has been in guiding me through some challenging times. She has always been available for me to talk to and has never made me feel I am wasting her time, despite some very mundane questions! Her support, integrity, professionalism and caring nature is exactly what I have needed and I would be lost without her. Thank you Louise.

I wish to nominate Keira as my wife is in Wakefield ward and as a recent hospital inpatient myself (Christmas Day admission) I know how important it is that the nursing staff are friendly as well as carrying out their duties. I nominate Keira having seen her always cheerful disposition dealing with patients and finding time to be not only friendly /helpful but amusing as well. It is so important to boost patients morale at a time when they are feeling low and Keira does it with a smile even alaugh and a joke.

All the above were constantly cleaning equipment and their hands and they were friendly and made sure all in their care were treated as individuals. What an asset they are to your hospital with such happy dispositions they made a six hour stay enjoyable, thanks.

30136. Mr Kaseem, Louise and the Breast Team
From the time of me being diagnosed with breast cancer right through to post operative care the support and care I have received has been incredible. These people could not have done more to see me through this devastating operation. Mr Kasem has got to be the most caring surgeon you have, he doesn't treat you as a job but as an individual who he takes under his wing, takes pride in his work and who will always be there to talk you through any concerns. I cannot thank the Breast care team enough, they are wonderful.
