28235. Grace Rose
I met Grace at my Pre-Assessment interview on Eliot Ward. I found her very informative which put me at ease as my operation is this weekend, we also had a good laugh so I would like Grace to be nominated.

28101. Carole?
A few weeks ago my neighbour had an appointment in the lung clinic with Dr Stewart, she went up the hospital without her husband, she wanted to go to see the Dr on her own as she had a feeling it was going to be bad news but hoping it wasnt. The news was not good, she was told she had a few large black spots in her lungs which were very bad news and cannot be operated on. My neighbour said she cried her eyes out in the clinic, she did say the nurse in the clinic was a real angel, she said she thinks she dropped down from the skys to comfort her. She was so gentle, kind and caring so lovely. The nurse did ask if she wanted her husband in but she said she wanted to tell him herself when she got home. She wanted to thank the Nurse so much but she only knew her name as Carole as Dr Stewart called her that. She said she was one of the old school nurses, excellent for her age. Thank you so much.

27976. Nora and her friend
I found Nora and her friend (forgotten her name but dark haired, petite and glamourous) to be happy, helpful and kind even at the end of a long shift. Nora brought me in some sweeties when I moaned about a dry mouth and her friend sat and talked to a dementia patient during her break because shed nursed her the day before and seemed to make a bond with her. They both impressed me with their commitment and dedication.

27978. P Craddock
A very wonderful person full of energy and a great personality. She makes the start of the day really happy even at 5.30 am. All I can add is its a shame there are not more like Pat Craddocl.

27980. Shirley Goodbier
Shirley is one of the kindest, most considerate nurses I have ever come across. She has an excellent bedside manner, patient care is paramount and nothing is to much trouble for her. Whilst being caring and considerate she still displays an excellent professional outlook. As an employer I would employ her in a heartbeat.

28013. Anne Sands
I had a knee operation 3/11/12 and Anne was the night nurse. She was kind, considerate and certainly knew her responsibility during my 3 days at Medway Hospital. Her sense of humour was great and she deserves to be nominated for all of her hard work.

28068. GLYNIS COLLINGS AND THE ARETHUSA TEAM
Certainly a WOW award for my stay in the Arethusa Ward. Glynis is a very professional , dynamic , direct and positive lady. Yet caring , attentive with plenty of cheerful banter, and worked at least an hour over her shift time until she was satisfied everything was in hand. Glynis really made things happen and quickly. Consultants and Registrars are notoriously poor and slow in " communication of information " skills and are completely unaware of the anxiety, distress and frustration they cause with the very casual and relaxed manner of delayed feed back patients experience , not knowing outcomings of proceedures and prognosis. Here Glynis cuts through the bureaucracy and quickly makes things happen with staff appearing at your bedside with some answers. Thank you Glynis and the Arethusa Staff for making the difference.

28073. All staff on Pembroke Ward
I had a hip replacement last week and just wanted to nominate all the team on Pembroke Ward for their kindness and good humour. In particular, Rowena never lost her smile and looked after us with patience and friendliness all night even when short-staffed. Please pass on my thanks to everyone for making what could have been an awful time actually quite pleasant.

28092. Grace Rose
I had to attend Eliot Ward on the 7th November 2012 for my pre-op assessment. The staff were very attentive and carried out the preliminary height, weight and blood pressure examination as required. My main assessment was carried out by sister Grace Rose, what a very caring, informative, patient and dedicated Nurse she is, she appears to thoroughly enjoy her work and really puts one at ease. My operation on the 16th November is a second stage knee replacement and I was very apprehensive. Everything I needed to know was explained clearly and at the end of my assessment my wife and I were extremely satisfied.
