28724. Medway NHS Foundation Trust
I would like to nominate all staff members of your hospital who helped me over my illness and I believe saved my life. There were so many people who looked after me it would be unfair to pick one person or team to give the Wow Award to because I think they all deserve an award, and a lot more. I would just like to say a big thank you to your staff and your hospital.

28743. Day Surgery Procedure Suite and Plastic Surgery Team
I would like to nominate everyone involved with my care on the morning of December 6th 2012 when I attended for a minor operation. Everyone was very professional, kind and reassuring. In particular William Norman and Jane Palos. William was very kind and reassuring and held my hand throughout the procedure explaining everything that was going to happen. He also made me laugh - I havent had much to laugh about recently ! Jane Palos was very professional and again reassuring - explaining everything that was happening and what I needed to do once I left the hospital.

28505. Mr W Edrees
I have been told I was very lucky to survive a aorto-enteric fistula. To me it was not luck but the skill and professionalism of Mr W Edress, his medical team, and the staff of ICU and all the wards I was on. However, if it has to be just one individual then it has to be Mr Edrees. It is due to him that I am still alive and standing and able to submit this appreciation of his skill. Thank you alan maggs

28629. Ann Mckinnon
A couple weeks ago my son spent a day on Dolphin ward after having a minor operation.Dealing with a autisic son can have it challenges at the best of times. Add to that a stay in hospital and the challenges are mulitpied. Ann was fantastic to say the least . She spent time with him trying to keep his mind occupied with varies activities and not on the operation he had. She also made time to phone him at home a couple of days afterwards to find out how he was. This lady deserves a medal !!

28641. Michelle Burney
Michelle delivered our baby boy on 15 November 2012, and was there from the moment we were allocated our room to the moment our little one was born. As first time parents we were understandably apprehensive and nervous, but Michelle could not have been more reassuring and helpful. She kept us informed throughout, and kept both of us calm. The contractions were made worse by an existing back condition, so Michelle arranged for me to use the birth pool for pain relief, something I had never thought of. We had a real rapport with her, due to Michelles sunny and approachable nature. She was even kind enough to sit with me for a while so that my husband could go and get something to eat. Michelle should have finished her shift at 8pm, but stayed on a while to see the birth of our son through to the end, which to me is real dedication, especially as Michelle has a family of her own to go home to. Everyone we have seen since having our baby has heard about Michelle, and just how lucky we were to have her. She made what could have been a frightening experience more bearable, and we just cannot thank her enough. Michelle thoroughly deserves to be recognised for her hard work and dedication, as she is obviously passionate and committed to her job and the patients in her care, and went the extra mile even though the delivery suite was quite busy.
