32468. CT Suite, Ganesh, Nurse Ruth and team and Mila in recovery team
I had been petrified about having the procedure of a lung biopsy performed on me. Everyone of the staff who dealt with me today were very pleasant and put me at ease. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They were very experienced and cared for my every need even down to the very nice cup of tea that Mila made me in recovery. I was cared for exceptionally wll and would like to thank them all very much from me.

Flo was so good at his job, he kept his eye on me while I was on Pembroke ward from the 17th Jan to 28th Jan and he was such a help with my factor ix injections. He really put my mind at ease when I had any problems and I was really grateful to him for being there and boosting morale on the ward. Thank you.

32407. Helen Davis
I was in Kingsfisher Ward for a week from 30/1/13 to 5/2/13. There were many staff on both the day shifts and night shifts that showed great skill, professionalism, and care for the patients, and worked well with each other as a team. My situation, and that of the other patients in the same room, seemed to keep the staff busy constantly for the whole week, but they always maintained a calm, professional attitude. Although several of the staff shone even brighter than the rest, Helen was the nurse who always went that extra step to give her time: to listen to someone's morphine-addled ramblings, to reassure that the symptoms WILL ease in time, to help and advise on coping-methods after leaving hospital, to lift the spirits of both the patients and other staff members, and to help us cope until we were in a position to cope for ourselves. Helen was not the only staff member who put more in to their work than was necessary, and more than would have sufficed, but she was the person who made the most difference to me.

32431. Eunice Onaiyekan
Eunice has lead the move to update and re launch the Hospital Passport for adults with a learning disability. The amount of hard work, commitment and enthusiasm from Eunice has been an inspiration. As a result the Passport was launched on Friday 22 March 2013 at Medway Maritime Hospital. As this document is rolled out to all adults with a Learning Disability in the area it should help to improve the treatment they receive in hospital, and indeed across the NHS. This will be a key factor in the hospitals work to improve the health and wellbeing of adults with a learning disability in Medway. Eunice has kept the project a live and been the anchor without whom it would definitely have foundered. A huge thank you Eunice for all you hard work and your patient and cheerful approach. You never get discouraged!

32454. Jackie Hart
I was advised by my doctor that I needed to be seen in SAU. The first person that attended to me was a staff nurse called Jackie, she explained everything that was going to happen and made me feel very comfortable from the start. I know this is how staff should treat you but most just don't seem to have the time, but she made sure I was aware of the procedures to follow and I felt that she really looked after me. She checked on me regularly and made sure I was ok throughout my time there and dealt with any concerns that I had very professionally. She was very down to earth and I felt that she sympathised with my condition. I did say thank you but on the way out I saw this advertised and thought what a good way to express my satisfaction.

32002. Kelly, Alison, Jane, Maggie and Dr Akthor
I was very nervous about this appointment, but from the moment I walked in the receptionist (Kelly) made me feel at ease plus was very cheerful and made me laugh, this then carried on through the whole process, so except for feeling embarrassed and slight discomfort the experience was made a lot better.
