33891. Joe
Centre: Falaise boot camp
Joe is a very very nice man. He is approachable, friendly and dedicated to his team. Joe has given us much advise over the past few years while working at Falaise and at Bexhill Leisure Centre. Joe encorouges us to try new equipment and progress our training each time we see him. Recently Joe took the time to explain how a new exercise would help us and adapted it to take into account previous injuries. Joe always speaks, even when he is training himself in his own time, nothings is too much trouble - that is rare these days! We believe Joe is an asset to the company and we hope he is rewarded for all is efforts, not just towards us, but to all members he supports. Well done Joe, your a star!!

34168. K2 set up team and Dan and Gloria Newstead
Centre: K2 Crawley
IAPS Swimming Finals involving nearly 900 swimmers and over 2000 spectators. Set up started at 10.00 pm and left the centre at 11.30pm. Started again at 07.00 next day and finished at 8.30pm. Nothing was to hard, difficult or anything else for the team at K2. From tables, chairs, bottles of water needed all over the place. They just got on and did it quietly and efficiently. I was in awe and more than appreciative. Thanks you made what could be a hellish experience a complete breeze.

34055. Sue Baker
Centre: The Dolphin
I would like to nominate Sue because every contact I have with her is nothing but a pleasure and having spent 12 years in customer service and seeing the standard of service provided in general in the market it is easy to spot someone that is exceptional and Sue is. Having recently had difficulty running my club which has been running for 6 years she has been a great support in trying to find solutions to not just keep it running but also help it's growth and even though I still need to close down due to health reasons she has made it a great experience and I will have no hesitation about contacting her when I am able to return. She has been brilliant and is more than deserved of recognition.

33856. Matt Southam
Centre: Hailsham Leisure Centre
I have had personal training with Matt for a few months and have attended his Saturday morning running group, as well as his new group which just started up a few weeks ago on a Monday evening. His commitment to running and PT is fantastic and keeps motivational levels high, not only for me but the entire running community he has developed. I have now lost over a stone and wish to continue my gradual weight loss and keep it off. Running used to be a burden but now I love it, thanks to Matt!!

34160. Karen Lewis
Centre: The Triangle
Karen really quickly responded to an e-mail that I sent requesting records for my childrens' attendance at the Triangle's holiday club as I had been asked to provide proof of my costs for a random HMRC audit. I sent an e-mail on the morning of Monday 20th May at around 9.30 and by 15.40 Karen had found the records and printed out receipts for me to collect from the front desk that evening. I really appreciate the speed of her response as I can't keep the tax man waiting. Thanks to Karen

We held a Badminton England play off match on 21st April 2013 at the Dolphin. We had 20 matches to play in a limited time. The help Matt gave us was pivotal in the smooth running of the event. He swept the courts, moved furniture and could not have been more accommodating in helping us ready the hall. It contributed in making our visitors who had travelled all the way from Cheshire feel comfortable. Many thanks Matt

32989. John Doswell
Centre: The Dolphin
I've been with The Dolphin Leisure Centre for over 4 years now, and John has always helped me, every step of my journey. I recently had a review of my fitness regime and again, John has given me wonderful advice with my health conditions in mind. I have Fibromyalgia, Hyper-mobile joints and other health conditions that affect my abilities to exercise. John listened to my concerns and experiences and showed me exercises tailored to my conditions. He showed me every step of each exercise, and if something was too hard for me, he showed me how to change it up to make it more comfortable for me. That kind of one to one customer service is priceless for me as my conditions are long term, and I need the help now whilst I can exercise. I now feel really motivated to get back into the gym and I'm really going to enjoy these new exercises :-)

Mel is an excellent instructor and doesn't realise how good she is at her job, I have never been fitter!

32614. Hayley Plummer
Centre: The Dolphin
Hayley has helped me enormously. I already achieved my first goal with her help (to climb the 3rd highest volcano in the world) & she is about to embark on assisting me with my next goal (to run a half marathon - I don't even run!). Hayley's real strength though is that she goes above & beyond, checking up on me through Fitness Pal, emails & texts. In addition, it s clear to me that Hayley loves her work & is energetic in keeping herself informed as to new ideas & current thinking (both with regard to exercise & nutrition). Moreover, Hayley accommodates my difficult working life by being as adaptable & flexible as possible. I cannot commend her enough.

Kathy and the team create a really friendly atmosphere which is often lacking in other gyms so I'd like them to be recognised and rewarded for this.

32257. The Staff Team
Centre: Kings
Dear Stuart Just a quick note to put on record how excellent your facilities and staff were for our Tadpoles exam by the National Association of Swimming Clubs for the Handicapped on Friday and Saturday. Please pass our thanks on to the Staff especially the lifeguard who was unaware of the fact that we were demonstrating emergency actions and was about to rescue one of our candidates when she 'got into trouble' in the water! My fault entirely as I did not notice that she had come on shift and replaced one of the Lifeguards that I had warned about what we were doing. Thanks for the loan of all the equipment, it all worked perfectly. We now have 16 more helpers who have passed the NASCH award. Many thanks Allan Rees

31634. Dominic Horner
Centre: Hailsham Leisure Centre
I initially approached the Hailsham Centre last year, with a suggestion that they might be able to open the gym area earlier in the mornings. As my partner and I both work, and have kids etc, I find the best time for me to use a gym is first thing in the morning, but starting at 7am didnt leave enough time to work out, shower, change and get back to get the kids' breakfasts and off to school. Dominic contacted me very promptly, was courteous and helpful and we agreed, via an exchange of emails, that he would put out a questionnaire to fellow gym users to see whether anybody else would use the gym early in the morning - I understood that the gym would need to pay its overheads. It was left for some time, and Dominic came back to me eventually suggesting that there hadnt proved to be the need at this time to open earlier which I totally understood, but I was grateful to him for letting me know. Yesterday I received an email out of the blue from Dominic, letting me know that the gym was having a refurb and that thereafter (Oct 13) would be trying out new earlier hours. I was absolutely delighted that Dominic had not only taken the trouble to let me know but had remembered me in the first place! I would like to nominate him for excellent customer service and thank him greatly for his time and efforts! Thanks Freya

32483. Tracey - swimming teacher
Centre: The Dolphin
On 12th March it was snowing and all the schools in Haywards Heath were shut. I was so surprised to find out that Tracey was still doing her swimming lessons and was so impressed. My daughter Poppy and 2 other pupils managed to make it to the lesson which Tracy ran as always with her lovely way with the children. I would also like to thank all the other staff that made the Dolphin up and running that day - the reception staff were chirpy and the lone chef working in the kitchen who cooked and served our lunch. Thanks to all of you!

John is the older gym attendant at the Dolphin Gym. I have been going to this gym for a year now, and right from the start John was informative and helpful. 31329. julie brown
Centre: Hailsham Leisure Centre
I have been a customer of Freedom Leisure, Hailsham, for more than ten years. I like the friendly and relaxed atmosphere of the centre yet in particular I like the welcome led by the reception team. Julie will warmly greet all customers as they enter and leave the centre, acknowledging all returning customers by their first name to personalise their visit. She is attentive and swift in her service, yet never too hurried or pre-occupied with other tasks to ensure everyone feels valued. Julie will frequently make additional service suggestions including drawing attention to new classes or asking if a repeat class booking is required. Julie demonstrates great listening, communication and empathetic skills with customers. Her body language is always open and appropriate eye contact is maintained throughout all interactions. I have seen how well Julie liaises with other centre staff, creating a cooperative and efficient operation and positive impression to visitors. Equally, Julie sets a precedent for her own front of house team with her own efficiency, organised work station and comprehension of organisational systems and procedures. As a team leader Julie demonstrates patience in giving instruction and advice to others. I do hope that Freedom leisure value the invaluable service that Julie has offered to people like myself. Julie is unfailingly enthusiastic and consistent in putting the needs of the customer first. Having delivered customer care programmes within large Blue Chip Organisations I would proudly hold up Julie as exemplar of how well customer service delivery can be done. Not only does Julie meet customer care expectations, she exceeds them, and does so seamlessly.

31118. giles brook
Centre: Withdean Sports Complex
ever since my daughter attended the active for life tennis sessions that took place last summer at preston park, she has shown a huge interest in the sport. it was mainly down to the team who was running it but in particular it was giles who not only made the children feel at ease and was keen to make sure they were having fun, but ensured their absolute safety throughout. now she attends the mini red tennis sessions each week at withdean and this is purely down to giles. he always greets her with a smile and has never forgotten her name even when he may not be running her class. he ensured i got my refund when two days of the xmas tennis camp course had to be cancelled and notified me by phone with plenty of advanced warning. he has never forgotten to include us in his e-mails informing us of future tennis camps. he is an excellent and very patient coach. impeccably well turned out and very polite. i have great delight in nominating him for a wow award.
