Amy Stewart

After road works took place: The access Protection Banner to a property where the occupier is house bound was not put back. I reported this to Amy Stewart, who organised the banner to be replaced. This work was carried out within 14 days. Thank you Amy!

Brian McGoohan

Brian - Project Manager re: Road Works at Stenhouse Road, Brian made sure we had 24hr access. The above property has a house bound occupier, when problem arose Brian cycled up within one hour of calling and corrected the problem. Excellent customer service!

Helen Mavor

I had trouble with my benefit and had no JSA for almost a month and had been refused a crisis loan. Not knowing where to go next I went to the South Neighbourhood office and asked to speak to a Social Worker. I met Helen who normally dealt with homeless adults. She went beyond her general duty by organising me the delivery of a food parcel and organised for me to receive £5 towards my gas bill. Thanks a lot to Helen; I appreciate everything you have done!

After struggling to find the mission statement for Edinburgh Council for a essay I am doing on customer service, I was put through to several people. Mairi was polite and took time to look it out. When she couldnt straight away, she took my email address and sent it direct to me the same working day. Ensuring my Essay was written it time. I was very grateful and found her very helpful.

Louise Vittery

I have always received a great service from the Council, but Louise Vittery has made a special effort to get us the result we needed. Since our neighbours moved in our lives became a nightmare, but it all changed for the better on Thursday 22 December when they moved out.This was all down to the extra effort Louise put in to getting the correct result. Peace and quiet once again!Thank you.

SCOTT WATT

Scott has helped us enormously in a scam which we were victims of. His advice and help has enabled us to cope with the massive loss of funds we have had. Although we have not been able to reclaim the monies we have lost as yet, we feel that he has done so much to ensure we do not fall into this trap again and also has made us aware of other avenues we can pursue to help others who may fall foul of these wicked people.

From the very first meeting with Sam he was respectful and helpful. He gave information needed clearly. He explained how processes worked. This was reassuring that we were in safe hands. He knew his job and offered more if required. He followed up on what he said, his whole attitude and efficiency was invaluable. He made a difficult time more pleasant.

Marion Mackay-Brock

Marion has been brilliant! I had been very ill and not coping, my bills were piling up and I was not able to do normal tasks. Marion sorted everything out for me... She intervened at exactly the right time preventing me from court actions for debt and unnecessary harassment for bad debts.She always had a smile and a positive attitude and could not do enough to help me. She even visited me in hospital and applied for money for clothing for me when I came out of coma-I was so thin my clothes did not fit me. It was a lovely surprise.I think she deserves recognition-as does her colleagues.I dont know where I would be now if it were not for her.

Mandy works closely with local Safer Neighbourhood Team officers to tackle anti social behaviour. On 26th August, 2011 Mandy discovered a piece of information relating to a vulnerable female which she quickly made the Police aware of. This allowed officers to act swiftly preventing any further harm to the lady. Mandys quick thinking and joint partnership working was a credit to herself and the CoEC

Wendy Walmsley

Since the refurbishments on my building started I was plagued with everything from rain pouring in to ceilings collapsing due to heavy water soaking up in the plaster. Wendy has been a force of good in my life whilst this has all been happening, her job is to contact tenants like myself when rent is overdue and/or is due to go to court. I nominate her for this award because of her ability to go beyond the call of duty and actually help me in this situation. She has found out relevant information, made phone calls and supported my decisions on how I progress with these issues.Whilst this has been going on she has also been pro-active in using foresight and looking at what things I will able to do if these things continue�Whilst people may see he in a negative fashion in her role as rents officer, which I admit is how I saw her before, she has now turned that view around to a driving force of aid and assistance within the Council.I will now always have a positive opinion of the Rents Officers - even if they are telling me I am going to court!I am now able to get on with my life with a sigh of relief and far less issues because of her great work. I do hope that other members of the council can take her lead and learn from her example.
